Thanksgiving Day is just around the corner. While you are busy planning the menu, take time to plan for a successful visit for your loved one with dementia. 

If your loved one has Alzheimer's, it does not necessarily mean they have hearing loss. In fact, most folks hear you quite well. That leads us to this question - Why are you yelling at them? Let's talk about that on today's episode.

Who doesn't enjoy having their hands rubbed or their back massaged?  Let's talk about that in relation to good communication techniques.

You know what they say about assuming?  When you assume, you make an ASS out of U and ME!  (Ass-U-Me)  Let's avoid that in all communication, but let's be very diligent to not assume when communicating with our loved ones with dementia. ​

What is a panaffle?  It is a cross between a pancake and a waffle.  My recipe has ZERO GLUTEN, and it is very good for you.  Here is the recipe for CAROL'S PANAFFLES - 

2 scoops of pea protein powder (or protein powder of your choice)
dash of salt

Mix together.

In blender or Vitamix add
3 cracked eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
10 drops  Sweet Leaf Liquid Stevia
3 tablespoons nut butter (almond, walnut, pecan - try to stay away from peanut butter)
1/4 cup almond milk
five pitted dates
