About

MISSION STATEMENT

To provide free, accessible support for individuals navigating the complexities of dementia caregiving. We believe that by fostering a strong community and offering valuable resources, we can empower caregivers to feel more confident, supported and less isolated.

OUR VISION

We understand how difficult caregiving can be when cognitive issues are a part of that experience. Our goal is to walk side-by-side with caregivers, offering encouragement, support, and information to handle the daily challenges of dementia caregiving. Our aim is to foster healthy caregivers who are equipped to care for their loved ones with dementia. Of course, this enhances the life of the individual with dementia.

About Carol Howell

Carol Howell is the Executive Director of Let’s Talk Dementia. As a caregiver for her mother, Vera, who had Alzheimer’s type dementia mixed with dementia from Post Polio Syndrome, Carol began her education to be a better daughter and caregiver. This journey led to writing Amazon Best Selling books, hosting both a video and podcast series called “Let’s Talk Dementia,” and starting this not-for-profit ministry. Carol’s ministry goal is to support and encourage caregivers as she works with them virtually.

Let us travel this journey of dementia with you.

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

“Born From Experience and Empathy”

At Let’s Talk Dementia, we understand the profound impact that caring for someone living with dementia can have. It is a journey filled with love, dedication, and often significant challenges. You are not alone, and that’s why we are here. Our foundation is built on empathy and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of those who dedicate themselves to caring for loved ones with dementia.

Navigating Caregiving Together

We recognize that each caregiving situation is unique; however, many common issues arise: the emotional toll, the practical challenges, and the constant need for information and understanding. We aim to address these commonalities by creating a space where caregivers can:

 • Connect with others: Our monthly online private support group allows caregivers to share their experiences, find understanding, and create a supportive network.
 • Access trustworthy information: Our books, videos, podcasts, and one-on-one phone consultations provide reliable information just a few clicks away.
 • Caregivers will feel heard and validated, knowing their struggles and triumphs are acknowledged. Discover coping mechanisms: We aim to assist caregivers in developing strategies for managing stress and enhancing well-being.

What Makes Us Different?

We are committed to providing our phone consultations completely free of charge. We believe that financial constraints should never act as a barrier to accessing essential support and information. Our resources are designed to be easily accessible online, allowing caregivers to engage whenever and wherever it is most convenient.
