Welcome

You have come this far on our website. This is likely because you are a caregiver for someone with dementia, seeking support for yourself or answers to caregiving questions.

That is why Let's Talk Dementia was formed.

During her caregiving journey for her mother, Carol Howell faced questions and life situations that were confusing, frustrating, and scary, which felt vastly different from any other experiences she had encountered.

About Us

Let's Talk Dementia

Actually, Carol was correct. Dementia caregiving is quite different from caregiving for most other conditions. Having the knowledge to navigate the often tumultuous waters of dementia caregiving is crucial. Understanding practical methods to make life easier for both the caregiver and the person they care for is essential.

The techniques we teach bring hope and smiles to the lives of caregivers, who then share that hope and those smiles with the individuals they care for. It is a win-win!

Everyone thought the room looked great!

“Thank you again for all your help, support, and advice this weekend. Everyone thought the room looked great, and your ideas were responsible for that. I appreciate your hanging the pictures and your mom’s ironing of the dust ruffle. I am so thankful that I saw the article advertising that you were speaking locally. My life has been blessed with many caring friends, and I count you among them. May God continue to bless you in all that you do for others.”
Mrs. Howell Opened my Eyes

“Mrs. Howell opened my eyes through her life journey and Mrs. Howell opened my eyes through her life journey and her efforts to reach out to those with dementia, as well as to their family members. I now have more knowledge than I did before about these topics. Mrs. Howell encouraged us all to use this information to interact with those who have these diseases and to love them better.”

We Appreciate Your Flexibility and Willingness

I just wanted to let you know how appreciative I am for all you do with our adult day center clients. They anticipate your arrival, and I am amazed at the 100% participation during your sessions. Music truly is the universal language. The addition of the puppets this week was well received by all ages in our group. We span ages from very young adults to very elderly which is often a challenge in planning activities. I noticed that our clients quickly joined in with the songs during the puppet skit, even before you asked for participation. Our younger adults do not always know the songs that you choose, but with your encouragement, they soon join in and sing along. We appreciate your flexibility and willingness to honor special requests.
"Carol has been a huge advocate for my family even as we just begin this dementia journey. She explained our mom's diagnosis in a way that helped each of my family members truly understand. She gave us directions on care for my mom in the midst of our "unknowns." She also made us laugh while she taught us the essentials for good caregiving. We will continue to work with her and feel so much peace from God knowing we have her as one of our mom's advocates."
